ripping up old carpet::Quite often the glue will have crystallized over time and the carpet will basically just roll up.
Then fold it into thirds, roll it up, and haul it out.
If the carpet is stretched in over pad, removal is pretty easy.
Cut it at all the doorways and closets to make it into individual square pieces.
Fold each of the bigger pieces in thirds and then start at one end and roll it up.
Haul the carpet pieces out and then start on the pad.
If the floor is concrete, hopefully a pro did it.
But, concrete or wood, the removal method is pretty much the same.
The kind that looks like a garden hoe that someone has straightened out works the best.
Use it to scrape all the seams and perimeters of the pad.
Keeping it in larger, more organized pieces makes it better for ease of disposal.
The scraper trick normally just leaves staples behind and not pad.
